MY RESOLUTIONS OF 2017 THAT YOU SHOULD DO IN 2018

You might hear the phrase ‘can’t wait to see the back of this year’ every damn year and be sick to the back teeth of it like at midnight we get ‘2017’ in a box and throw it in the Mersey like it’s a concrete object? Things have been out of my control this year but has this stopped me making the most of what I can control? NO. Here are my four resolutions that I achieved this year.

TRAVEL MORE

I made it my goal to travel as much as possible this last year and feel like I’ve been successful with 7 holidays and mini breaks. Investing in this has given me a chance for downtime and of course to experience new cultures, all the reasons people travel. But for me, it’s been motivation. I love my blog content from travelling and always get a good response so it motivates me to do more, also living the high life in the most beautiful places makes me strive for this to be a permanent reality. Travelling gives ‘the sublime effect’ as I would call it. You realise there is a world out there that is so vast and opulent and it scares you but simultaneously makes you want so much more. It is a greatness beyond all possibility of calculation, measurement, or imitation and something I want to experience as much as possible. I wish everyone could feel how I felt on top of Peterskirche with a view of Munich and the Bavarian mountains that surrounded the city or at the Top of the Arc de Triomphe with the postcard Paris and the modern Paris either side. Step out of square one and Like Pink Floyd said, A walk-on part in the war is far superior to a lead role in a cage.

TAKE UP YOGA

I bought a yoga mat the first week of January, used it once, and it went away for a while if I’m being honest. It was hard to motivate myself through yoga as in all honesty, it takes a lot of determination, strength and control that I didn’t have yet. I got a Pinterest board for motivation, a sick AF playlist and some cut clothes and equipment. I do what I can and try to push myself, not feeling bad if I can’t do something and now I’m in a routine that I love. I literally do it every other day just in my room and it seriously has helped me in both my physical and mental health. I seriously recommend to take it up. Plus TK Maxx has SUPER cheap yoga mats.

START THAT PROJECT

My blogging routine was weak AF and this year I put an end to that and re-branded myself completely. There is still a lot of work to be done with improving my dedication and content but being around people that support me is the reason I am where I am today. My #livbloggers gang with their incredible blogs inspire me to work harder and always give me positive feedback. If you want to start a new project, first of all, ask yourself why and what you want to get out of it. secondly, just fucking start. open a word document or get a piece of paper and write PLAN at the top. The rest is hard work and determination, and having a supportive network around you reminding you why you’re doing this to begin with will see you through.

STOP GIVING A FUCK

Doing something other’s are too scared to do makes people jealous and confused so they respond with hatred. You’re too much or your dreams aren’t big enough. In school, I didn’t feel like I fitted in and subsequently was called every name under the sun. In all honesty, through everything, I’ve never been an insecure person and yes I do LOVE myself, and people sadly don’t like to see other people happy. However, in the words of Tiffany Pollard ‘New York’, ‘DO IT LOOK LIKE A GIVE A FUCK? COS I DON’T’. You don’t have to please anyone but yourself and as long as you’re bringing kindness into the word, why should you care what anyone else thinks?
